Roberto Olivarez Jr., OD

Dr. Roberto Olivarez Jr. is an optometrist in McAllen, Texas providing complete eye care services for the surrounding communities. Born and raised in McAllen, Dr. Olivarez is a graduate of McAllen High School, Texas A&M University and the University Of Houston College Of Optometry.

Together with his wife, Juanita, they have raised 4 sons and 1 daughter.

Dr. Olivarez has been active in church, school and youth ministries serving as volunteer baseball and soccer coach, and adult leader in the Boy Scouts of America, for which he has earned local, state and national recognition.

As a licensed optometrist, Dr. Olivarez provides exams, diagnoses, and treatments of all disorders that affect the eye or vision. Dr. Olivarez is trained to recognize a range of health issues; such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetes and hypertension. Dr. Olivarez’ areas of emphasis are specialty contact lenses and Dry Eye Disease management and treatment.

Dr. Olivarez works hard to stay current on the latest advances in eye health and vision care and regularly attends continuing education seminars and advanced training courses. It is because of Dr. Olivarez’ dedication to continuing education, that our McAllen patients receive the most modern and progressive vision care available.

Dr. Olivarez is a member of the American Optometric Association, Texas Optometric Association and the Rio Grande Valley Optometric Association.

Dr. Sawyer Lambert

Dr. Sawyer Lambert is a South Texas native, born and raised in Corpus Christi, Texas. He received his undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. He earned his Doctorate of Optometry degree and graduated magna cum laude in 2019 from the University of Houston College of Optometry. He completed clinical externships in ocular disease at the VA Texas Valley Coastal Bend Health Care System in Harlingen/McAllen with Dr. Michael Wingard, along with an externship at Oak Hill Eye Care in Austin for primary eye care and specialty contact lenses. He enjoys seeing patients of all ages and from all areas of the Rio Grande Valley. He provides meaningful and individualized eye care to every patient he encounters. He is trained to detect and manage diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, hypertension, glaucoma, dry eye, foreign body removals, and many other ocular health issues. His passion is specialty and hard to fit contact lenses and serve patients who need more specialized car.

He is board certified by the National Board of Examiners in Optometry and the Texas Optometry Board. Dr. Lambert is a Therapeutic Optometrist allowing him to prescribe oral and topical medications to treat eye diseases, as well as an Optometric Glaucoma Specialist allowing him to diagnose and treat glaucoma.

Dr. Lambert is a member of the American Optometric Association, Texas Optometric Association, and an active member of the Rio Grande Valley Optometric Association (currently serving as RGVOS President) where he has presented local lectures over numerous optometric topics. He is also a member of the International Gold Key Optometric Society and served as President of the Student Optometric Practice Management Association while at UHCO. In his free time, Dr. Lambert enjoys traveling to all 50 states with his wife, Mary, and watching sports. He loves playing with his son Brooks, and his two dogs Finn and Mae.
